1. Introduction

Food Passport ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application that lets you scan food photos, identify cuisines, and collect stamps on a 3D world passport. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using Food Passport, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address (used for login and account recovery)
• Your display name (chosen by you)
• Your profile photo (optional, chosen by you)

b) Passport & Activity Data

We store:

• The cuisine regions you have stamped (country, region, and dish name)
• Your achievements earned within the app
• The date and time of each AI scan you perform (for rate limiting purposes — we store a count, not the images)

c) Food Photos

When you use the AI scanning feature, your photo is sent to our backend server and forwarded to OpenAI's API for analysis. We do not store your food photos. They are processed in real time and immediately discarded. OpenAI may retain data per their privacy policy.

d) Usage Data

We collect anonymised usage data such as app open events and crash reports to improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.
